Your Troop-provided binder is an essential tool for tracking your Scouting journey. Use it to record and organize your community service, campouts, outings, and merit badges.
Keep your binder neat, organized, and up to date—it’s a reflection of your progress and commitment. Bring it with you to every TroopS meeting so you can record new activities and achievements right away.
When it’s time for your Board of Review, your Scout leaders will look through your binder to confirm that you’ve completed the requirements for your next rank. Keeping it current makes that process smooth and successful!
Items to have in your binder:
Community Service Hours Log
Campouts/Outings Log
Blue Cards and Merit Badge Cards
Awards you have earned
Extra Copies and Samples of Binder Items
As you earn merit badges and other awards, be sure to keep them in your binder. At each Board of Review, adult leaders will go through your binder to check to make sure you have all the requirements for each advancement. Some items that should be in your binder include: merit badge blue and brown cards, any rank advancement certificates (First Class), non-merit badges, and totin' and firem'n chits. Keeping your binder neat and organized is an easy way to show off your achievements and make for a smooth Board of Review!
